Information stored on the Internet is fast, convenient, andin large partfree. With a Web browser before you, AppleScript information is no more than a few clicks away.

C.1.1. AppleScript Sites

  • www.apple.com/applescript. Apple's very own AppleScript home page. Be sure to check out the Resources link for a thorough list of AppleScript links elsewhere on the Web.

See www.apple.com/applescript/guidebook/sbrt/ for a list of helpful AppleScript subroutines (Section 5.2.5).

The AppleScript Language Guide, available from http://developer.apple.com/documentation/AppleScript/Conceptual/AppleScriptLangGuide/, is a handy reference to all the nuances of AppleScript syntax.

  • www.google.com. The world-famous search engine. If a particular AppleScript feature confuses yousay, using escape sequences (Table 4-1)do a search for something like applescript escape sequences, and browse through the results.

  • www.macosxhints.com. A site filled with tips for Mac OS X power users. (A number of the tricks involve creative uses for AppleScripts.)
