The Bottom Line

Google's SafeSearch content filter works by looking for sites that contain objectionable words and phrases, and then excludes those sites from the search results. You can apply the SafeSearch filter from Google's Preferences and Advanced Search pages by using the safesearch: operator and by modifying the search results page URL. Know, however, that SafeSearch won't catch all objectionable content, and may in fact block some sites that aren't objectionable at all. It's a goodbut not perfecttool.
