Chapter 27. Using Google Book Search

There's a lot of great information out there on the Web. But it pales to the amount of information available in printed books. If there were a way to create a repository of all the world's book content, it would put the Internet to shame.

For better or for worse, Google is working to create that legendary global book repository. Imagine, if you will, every book ever published, available for searching online, from your web browser. That's what Google is trying to accomplish with Google Book Search, in conjunction with the Google Books Library Project. If Google is successful (and there's no guarantee of that, of course; the project is rather daunting), the collected wisdom of the ages will be just a mouse click away.
