The Bottom Line

Obviously, this chapter isn't the place to go into the intricacies of writing Perl code to hook into the Google Webs API service. Suffice to say that if you're an application developer, Google makes it fairly easy to add Google search and other services into your code. In fact, you can use the Google Webs API to shape specific queries and the results they generate, to the point that your users don't even have to know that you're tapping into Google's huge web index. It's a great way to add increased functionality to your applications, and it's all available to you for free.
