Through the use of the Document Object Model (DOM) you can add a large range of dynamic effects to your Web page. Every HTML element on your Web page corresponds to an object in the DOM and can be referenced within your code (as long as you are using Internet Explorer). Many aspects of the DOM cannot be used if you are writing your Web page for Netscape Navigator, which severely limits your capabilities. Even with Netscape Navigator's limitations, however, you can still add some basic and very effective dynamic effects.
