Overview
By maintaining physical security and controlling access to device and machine resources, we can prevent unintentional misuse and malicious usage of the Solaris operating system. This chapter takes us further into the realm of system security and management by controlling access to devices using device policy and allocation and checking the integrity of files using the Basic Audit Reporting Tool (BART). Another mechanism is used to control access to files by protecting files with access control lists (ACLs), but this will be covered in detail in Chapter 10.
