Web Start
One of the four Solaris installation programs, it uses a Web-style interface.
Web Start Flash
A Solaris installation method that enables you to create an archive from a master system and then use that archive to install Solaris (with an identical configuration) on several other computers.
Web Start Flash archive
The file that contains the image of the Web Start Flash master system. The archive is used to install Solaris on other systems and give them the same software configuration as the master system.
wide area network (WAN)
A network distributed over a large geographical area, with the remote sites typically linked together with relatively slow (10Mbps or slower) connections.
working directory
The directory in which the user is currently located, as displayed by the pwd command.
