Downloading Videos to Portable Devices

Some (but not all) videos on Google Video are available for download to either the Apple Video iPod or Sony PSP portable devices. Read on to learn more.

Downloading to an Apple Video iPod

If a video is available for iPod download, you'll see this option on the video's video playback page. Next to the Download button is a pull-down list; look for videos that have a Video iPod option on this list, like the one in Figure 25.16.

To download a video to your Video iPod, follow these steps:

1.	From the video's video playback page, pull down the Download list and select Video iPod.
2.	Click the Download button and save the video to your computer's hard drive.
3.	Connect your iPod to your computer.
4.	Open the iTunes application.
5.	From within iTunes, select File, Add File to Library.
6.	When the Add to Library dialog box appears, browse for and select the video you just downloaded, and then click Open.
7.	Select Edit, Preferences.
8.	When the iTunes dialog box appears, select the iPod tab, click Videos, Automatically Update All Videos, and then click OK.

iTunes now copies the video to your iPod. To play the video on your iPod, select Videos, Movies.

Downloading to a Sony Playstation Portable

If a video is available for PSP download, you'll see the Sony PSP option in the pull-down list next to the Download button on the videos' video playback page, as shown in Figure 25.17. To download a video to your PSP, follow these steps:

From the video's video playback page, pull down the Download list and select Sony PSP.
Click the Download button and save the video to your computer's hard drive.
Use My Computer or a similar utility to rename the downloaded file to MAQ*****.MP4, where the asterisks are digits from 09.
Copy the renamed file to the \MP_ROOT\101ANV01 folder on your PSP memory stick.
